UK says only one Apache copter ready for combat use

Apache-Attack-HelicopterThe UK Defence Ministry has informed that only one helicopter is now ready for frontline combat operations. There are three helicopters but they can use only one.

The Telegraph has mentioned that, this has been due to wear and tear in the machines. The dust and excessive heat in the Helmand Desert in south Afghanistan have created huge damage in the helicopters. And only for that reason British troops are failed to take on the Taliban at the mean time.

Out of 67 helicopters, for the front line operations in Afghanistan to train pilots only 18 are available in UK.

According to the Ministry of Defence there are only Merlins, RAF's Chinook helicopters and Royal Navy's Sea Kingsleft with UK military.

The Apache attack helicopter has a top cover for troops that serves in Helmand Province. The Apache is very useful for the UK Army as it can be loaded with heavy weapons and also have the technology of night vision. It has saved numerous British soldiers at the time of attack.
