UK’s construction industry records strong growth in September, report
According to a new survey, the residential construction in the UK has recorded strong growth during the month of September, recording its fifth month of increase in the country.
The new survey by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply showed that the rate of growth in the overall UK construction activity eased moderately from 59.1 in August to 58.9 in September. The index remained well above the level of 50 during the month, indicating that the industry is on the rise.
The CIPS/Markit survey of purchasing managers in the sector showed that the industry recorded a strong boost from private house building. The company said that construction companies recorded strong growth during the third quarter of 2013 due to higher overall output levels and an increase in new orders.
The small fall in September from August did not affect market confidence as the industry continues to look confident over the coming quarters. The degree of positive sentiment in the industry was recorded at its highest level since April 2010 indicating that the government schemes has helped revive the industry.
