UAE mock poll favors Aquino-Roxas

The San Beda Alumni Association in the UAE conducted mock poll for the forthcoming Philippines national elections for the presidential and vice presidential posts. Filipino workers in the UAE showed a great deal of interest in the mock poll as they were eager to know political development in their home country.

Liberal Party standard-bearers Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II took the lead based on the survey of 123 respondents. Former President Joseph “Erap” recorded significant decline in his popularity gaining just 2 votes.

Aquino proved successful by getting 68 votes while administration party candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro and Nacionalista Party's Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar, Jr. managed to secure only 20 votes in the independent mock polls among overseas Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates

Roxas and Bayani Fernando gained 75 and 18 votes respectively in the Vice-presidential post. San Beda Alumni Association President Ares Gutierrez said that mock poll could prove beneficial for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the UAE in the absence of any election surveys.
