Two Chocolate Stick Flavors Recalled By Trader Joe’s

Two flavors of chocolate sticks have been recalled by Trader Joe’s. The recall has been announced due to the possibility of the two flavors containing milk and apparently the list of ingredients mentioned on the two products does not include milk. An email was sent by Trader Joe’s on March 25, 2016 to inform the consumers regarding the recall. The company is taking these products off the shelves in an effort to prevent any problems due to the probability of milk being contained in the two flavors.

The flavors being recalled and taken off the shelves are the store’s Chocolate Orange Sticks and Chocolate Raspberry Sticks, and both are fruit-flavored jelly sticks that have been coated with a thin layer of dark chocolate. The possibility is being shown that the sticks might have milk into them, while their components list does not say so. In the light of the fact that milk is a very strong allergen and several people have severe allergies towards milk, the company decided a complete recall.

Milk is capable of causing reactions in those who have allergies towards it or are intolerant towards milk. Furthermore, there are people who do not face any such allergies from milk, but decide not to have milk or dairy items, and therefore they would want to reassess their decision to buy these products if they contain milk. Up to now, reports of two people experiencing reactions have been received. Customers who have no problems with the consumption of milk can continue to retain their chocolate sticks.

However, if anyone wants to return their purchase can do so freely at any outlet of Trader Joe’s for full refund. The recall was initiated subsequent to employers observing the lighter shade of chocolate as compared to the shade of pure chocolate. This raised the possibility of the two products containing milk.
