Twin suicide bombings kill 11 in Peshawar

Twin suicide bombings kill 11 in PeshawarLahore, Oct. 16 : Two deadly bomb blasts on Friday left 11 people dead and 15 injured in Pakistan’s north-western city, Peshawar.

Three police officers, two women and two children were among those killed in the twin bomb attack.

“First I saw a blue flame then a loud explosion. When I got there I saw six bodies lying on the ground. I helped gather up body parts," BBC quoted an eyewitness, as saying.

Earlier it was being speculated that three suicide bombers, including a woman, attacked the police investigation bureau in the Swati Pathak area of the city.

Later, it emerged that the woman was an innocent victim and had been a passenger on a motorcycle travelling behind the car bomb.

The suicide attack comes amid tight security measures after about 40 people were killed in Lahore and the north-west on Thursday.

Just like Rawalpindi''s GHQ terror attack, the latest bombing appeared to be aimed directly at Pakistan''s police services, BBC reports.

At least 160 people have died in a series of terror attacks across Pakistan following a threat by the Pak-Taliban that it would take revenge of the death of its leader Baitullah Mehsud. (ANI)
