Tsunami warning lifted in Indonesia
Jakarta - Indonesian authorities lifted a tsunami warning after tidal waves did not materialize following a powerful earthquake that struck Java island, including the capital Jakarta Wednesday afternoon.
An official at Indonesia's National Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said the tsunami warning was lifted more than an hour after the 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck 142 kilometres south-west of Tasikmalaya in West Java at about 0755 GMT. (dpa)
