Toyota Kirloskar surprises competition
Amidst the reports on faulty brake kits in the latest SUV Fortuner, it seems that the consumer sentiment towards the company has remained undeterred. The company has registered a 77% increase in its sales in April 2010 as compared to the same period last year. It may be noted here that the company has sold 24,894 units during the first four months of 2010 recording an increase of 95% in the domestic market.
Out of the total sales, the company's latest product Fortuner sold around 3.892 units in the Indian market. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, (Marketing) TKM said that the company is happy to announce our quantum increase in sales for the month of April 2010.
Singh also mentioned the fact that the increase in sales also shows the faith of consumers towards the Toyota brand.
The Toyota brand has been known for its high quality in the global market. However, the over 8 million vehicles recalled by the company in this year have left a dent on its brand equity and hence the company is aiming to gain the consumer trust.
