Tourism in Singapore Shows Signs of Improvement
With the coming of 2010, Singapore's tourism seems to have been given a boost once again. During the year, the country is expecting to host 11.5 million to 12.5 million visitors and bag about S$17.5 Billion to S$18.5 Billion in tourism receipts. The figures have been shared by the Singapore Tourism Board and have been a result of the significant rise in tourist numbers recorded during the initial months of the year.
In order to offer something new to visitors and present itself as the ultimate destination to holiday, Singapore is also brushing some things up and adding more interesting tourist attractions. The biggest boost, it is expected, will be the opening of two casinos which are bound to draw people from everywhere.
Also, STB is offering various schemes and travel packages, aimed at making vacationing more enjoyable and affordable. In addition, the country's destination brand has been changed from "Uniquely Singapore" to "YourSingapore", and accompanying this is an all new website, yoursingapore. com, which promises to offer a unique virtual experience that no other destination website presently offers.
With the global recession coming to an end, people are now venturing out and making up for all the lost time during the financially difficult times. Asian countries, in particular, are being explored more, as these are a cost-effective option for tourists flying in from the western nations.
Singapore has always been one of the most sought after vacation spots, and like every other nation of the world, the country also felt the hurt of the global recession. But that seems to be a thing of the past now, and Singapore is all set to welcome visitors from all over the world!
