Tokyo - Tokyo stocks fell sharply early Thursday, after Wall Street's top indices lost more that 4 per cent overnight amid the continuing liquidity crisis in the financial industry.

About 15 minutes into the trading session on the benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average, the index had dropped 381.29 points, or 3.24 per cent, to 11,368.5. dpa
