Tokyo stocks bounce back on Wall Street's overnight gains Tokyo  - Tokyo stocks recovered Wednesday after Wall Street rose overnight.

Investors bought back mainly export-oriented auto and electronics shares, nudging the key Nikkei 225 Stock Average up 67.2 points, or 0.64 per cent, to 10,564.56.

The Tokyo market was cheered after better US economic data pushed Wall Street up overnight.

The broader-based Topix index was also up 5.52 points, or 0.57 per cent to 970.63.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 93.89-94 yen, down from Tuesday's 5 pm quote of 94.31-32 yen.

The euro traded at 1.4280-85 dollars, up from late Tuesday's quote of 1.4270-71 dollars, and at 134.12-17 yen, down from 134.58-62 yen. (dpa)
