Islamabad, Apr. 27 : The Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) has suspended peace talks with the government in protest against the military offensive in the Lower Dir area of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
"No talks will be held with government until end of operation," The News quoted TNSM spokesperson Ameer Izzat Maqam, as saying.
Meanwhile, an indefinite curfew has been imposed in Lal Qila, Islampura, Kal Kot and other adjoining areas in the region, and the security forces have regained control of Lal Quila, a key territory in the Madan tehsil.
Sources said the troops have carried out heavy shelling at militant hideouts in the past twelve hours in Madan and Kal areas of the region.
