T-Mobile, Blackberry spat escalates over iPhone offer to BB users
Washington, Feb 21 : T-Mobile and Blackberry are reportedly embroiled in a war of words with the former accusing the latter of being anti-choice.
The verbal duel triggered off after T-Mobile emailed some of its BlackBerry users offering them a discount on a new iPhone, but many of the loyal customers weren't amused by the company's iPhone promotion and took to Twitter and other social media platforms to express their displeasure.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere responded on Twitter and told the BlackBerry faithful that he was hearing them loud and clear and followed up with a message reassuring customers that the carrier was not about to abandon BlackBerry, PC World reported.
Meanwhile, an outraged BlackBerry CEO John Chen wrote on his company's blog of T-Mobile's clearly inappropriate and ill-conceived marketing promotion.
Mike Sievert, T-Mobile's chief marketing officer said that the premise of Chen's article was that it's best for customers if they restricted the free flow of information and limit consumer choice, adding that at T-Mobile we totally reject that premise. (ANI)
