Tech Mahindra Opens Its Seventh Indian Development Centre In Chennai

Software exporter Tech Mahindra has made announcement about the Tech Mahindraestablishment of its 1.2-lakh square foot development centre at the Mahindra World City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Paranur near Chennai.

The facility, company’s seventh in India, has been set up with a total investment of Rs 30 crore. Initially, it will house around 1,400 software engineers and 1,000 more by the next 18 months.

Vineet Nayyar, vice-chairman, managing director and CEO, Tech Mahindra, state that the company has been covering up new players in the telecom application business and increasing its service lines.

“The Chennai centre will be integral to the expansion of the company’s service offerings and delivery capabilities,” Mr. Nayyar said.

The centre will provide fast connectivity, videoconferencing facilities, training centres, food courts, an amphitheatre, recreation facilities, a swimming pool, a gymnasium and a sports complex for its employees.

Besides, Tech Mahindra will leverage this new facility at Chennai to expand its telecom R&D business. The company will also service global telecom equipment manufacturers and telecom service providers from this centre.

Tech Mahindra already has centers in Noida, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
