Tata Teleservices ties up with ICICI Bank for mobile banking services
One of the leading telecom companies of India – Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) announced on Thursday that it has tied up with ICICI Bank to provide mobile banking services to its subscribers. According to TTSL, the mobile banking services will be available for the Tata Indicom subscribers, who have registered for mobile banking with the ICICI Bank.
In a statement, TTSL stated that its Tata Indicom subscribers registered with ICICI for mobile banking will be able to enjoy banking services through their mobile phones; they will be able to manage their finances while on the move with the help of – i Mobile – a Brew-based application.
The Assistant Vice-President, TTSL, Zubin Jimmy Dubash said, “The subscribers can now manage their finances while on the move by using iMobile, a Brew-based application.”
According to Jimmy Dubash, with the mobile banking application, the subscribers will be able to transfer money to any bank account, pay bills, top-up prepaid mobile recharge, and check out account balances and the last five transaction history. They will also be able to locate ICICI Bank branches, ATM and phone banking numbers. The mobile banking application will also give them access credit card, Demat and loans services.
Jimmy Dubash said, "By having the largest private Bank ICICI Bank, we have just moved one step further towards mobile commerce. The mobile phone has enormous potential. It is likely to revolutionise the sector in a similar manner that the ATM did for banking and cash years ago.”
