Taliban have rocket-propelled grenades strong enough to kill anyone in 30-ft radius
London, Aug 22 : The NATO troops deployed in Afghanistan have reportedly come across a new Taliban weapon - a rocket-propelled grenade packed with ball bearings, which can kill any number of persons in 30-feet radius with its impact.
The lethal arsenal of around 89 units was found in a Taliban ammo dump in the increasingly violent Afghan region of Khost.
This is said to be worrying the British troops who are not aware about the possible number of such weapons already created by the Taliban to counter the foreign troops attacks on them.
“This is a worrying twist as their weaponry becomes more and more sophisticated. Who knows how many of these rockets are out there?” the Mirror quoted a British military source as saying.
The discovery comes in one of the worst weeks for the 65,000-strong International Security Assistance Force.
According to paper, NATO soldiers have uncovered a cache of 89 of the deadly devices, which spit out hundreds of red-hot pellets on impact. Anyone within 30ft will almost certainly be killed by the grenade, which terrorists call “Type 69 Airburst”, added the paper. (ANI)
