Survey on slowdown impact on industry
CII's annual day meet will be held at Yashada today
The National Council of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is conducting an online survey among its member industries for the past six months to get an idea on the present state and performance of the units during the challenging times of recession.
The survey, which the CII officials' term as more of a general survey rather than an industry wise analysis, is likely to be released soon.
"We are looking forward to release some parts of the reports on the present state of its member industries during the annual day conclave in Pune on Friday," said director and head of CII Pune zonal council Vishal Gakhar.
Over 250 industries in and around Pune region are likely to congregate for the conclave to be held at Yashada. With the global economic slowdown currently affecting industries all over, the CII has decided to take up several sessions on how to cope with crisis.
"During recession, the role of human resource (HR) is critical for any company. Hence, we have organised an HR conclave with some industry leaders to help both industries and students to know of ways and means to deal with HR-related issues during recession," said chairman of CII Pune zonal council and managing director of Finolex Cables Deepak Chhabria.
Some of the topics to be discussed during the HR conclave include impact of global financial crisis on auto industry, employment and employability issues being faced by India today, role of HR and a panel discussion on employees.
The CII will also organise a panel discussion for industries on 'managing business in a challenging economic scenario'. The speakers include Aditya Birla Group chief economist Ajit Ranade, KPIT Cummins chairman Ravi Pandit, Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd managing director Mukund Rajan, Yes Bank MD Rana Kapoor and Eaton Technologies MD Shyam P Kambeyanda.
