Sri Lanka wins first ODI matchThe winning streak of Sri Lankan team is continued as they thumped Pakistan in the first ODI match by 36 runs at Dambulla on Thursday. Sri Lanka has now taken 1-0 lead in the five ODI match series.

Sri Lanka scored 232 runs in 50 overs after Pakistan skipper Younis Khan won the toss and elected to field first. Most of the Sri Lankan batsmen got good start but they failed to convert it into big innings. Angelo Mathew was top scorer with 43 runs.

Pakistan team faced another batting collapse as they bundled out for just 196 runs on the board. The left-arm pacer T Thushara took 3-29 while M Muralitharan chipped in with 2 wickets.

Pakistan was struggling at 138 runs for 8 wickets when Umar Gul scored 33 runs off 21 balls to put up 62 runs for the ninth wicket with Mohammad Aamer.

Murali, who has returned from a knee injury, scored 32 runs in 15 balls that included four boundaries and a six. Murali was declared man of the match for his brilliant performance with bat and bowl.
