Sprint to turn on its 4G LTE network in 9 more US cities in coming months
In an earlier-this-week announcement, Sprint revealed that its high-speed 4G LTE network will become operational in nine more US cities in the coming months. The carrier started the official rollout of its super-fast network, initially with 15 US cities, in July this year.
While Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, and San Antonio, were already among the first 15 cities in which the Sprint 4G LTE network was rolled out, the carrier recently disclosed that the areas where it has now started working on the high-speed network include: Fort Smith, Ark.; Oakland, Fremont, and Hayward, Calif.; Key West, Fla.; Bloomington, Ind.; Michigan City and La Porte, Ind.; Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.; Ardmore, Okla.; McAllen, Edinburg, and Mission, Texas; and Eau Claire, Wis.
Earlier, in an October announcement, Sprint had disclosed that it had fired up its 4G LTE network in the so-called `Chicagoland,' which comprises several suburbs of Chicago; as well as in Hutchinson and McPherson, Kan.; New Bedford and Fall River, Mass.; and Wichita Falls, Texas.
Furthermore, according to the details shared by Sprint, its 4G LTE network is now functional in 32 cities, and it now plans to expand the network to over 125 cities, including Boston; Charlotte, N. C.; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; New York; Philadelphia; Memphis, Tenn.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Washington, D. C.
