South Korea Mohegan Inspire Casino earns esteemed five-star hotel rating

In a historic recognition by the Korea Tourism Association, the Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort in the Incheon area of South Korea has been bestowed with the exclusive five-star hotel rating, solidifying its status as an epitome of luxury and excellence in hospitality. The accolade, awarded to the Mohegan Inspire Casino through the rigorous Korean Hoteling Rating System, signifies the extraordinary standards upheld by Mohegan Inspire in service, hygiene, design, and amenities. The first phase of gambling-friendly property, which was unveiled in the month of November at a cost of $1.6 billion, encompasses 1,275 lavish hotel guest rooms, suites, and villas.

Boasting ten restaurants, an immersive entertainment street, a massive 15,000-person arena and events center, in addition to the captivating Splash Bay indoor pool and waterpark, the Mohegan Inspire sets a new benchmark when it comes to resort experiences.

Chen Si, President of Mohegan Inspire, expressed his elation, crediting the achievement to the joint efforts of the dedicated team across various domains, including hospitality, operations and facility management.

Ray Pineault, CEO of Mohegan, who attended the five-star designation ceremony in Incheon, described the accolade as a testament to Mohegan's steadfast commitment to excellence and providing first-rate experiences.

Expressing his elation, Si said, “I am delighted that Inspire’s hotel facility has officially achieved a five-star rating, and I would like to thank our team for their hard work in all areas.”

Under the planned $5 billion destination development, the Mohegan Inspire is set to experience additional construction phases. The casino resort, strategically located at Incheon International Airport, anticipates its gaming license soon, with plans to open the casino before the end of the first quarter (Q1) of this year. The casino, spanning approx. 200,000 square feet, will offer 1,500 slot machines and 250 table games, catering exclusively to foreign visitors, as local South Koreans are restricted from gambling in casinos.

The Korea Tourism Association, which has been instrumental in rating hotels and resorts since the year of 1971, transitioned from the use of five hibiscus flowers to stars in 2015 to enhance clarity for international travelers. The association’s commitment aligns with the south Korean authorities’ vision to position the country as a more attractive tourist destination. The five-star distinction bestowed upon the Mohegan Inspire underlines its role as a pinnacle of luxury within this vibrant landscape, alluring tourists from around the world to indulge in a really exceptional experience.
