South Africa to face Umar’s reverse swing

Umar GulSouth African batsmen will have to watch out for the reverse swing of Pakistan's fast bowler Umar Gul as South Africa will play against Pakistan in the first semifinal of the ICC T20 World Cup today at Trent Bridge.

Umar destroyed New Zealand batting attack as he took five wickets for just six runs against New Zealand by making the new ball to reverse swing at the Oval last Saturday.

South African skipper Smith said Umar has bowled really well in the last few matches and they are well prepared to tackle his reverse swing with the new ball as they had encountered this kind of situations in the earlier tours of the sub-continent.

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and leg-spinning all-rounder Shahid Afridi could also be destructive for the South African batsmen as the pitch at the Trent Bridge is slower in nature than the pitch which was at the Oval during Pakistan's match against New Zealand.

In another semifinal, Sri Lanka will play against West Indies at the Oval on Friday and the final match of ICC T20 World Cup will be played at the Lord's on Sunday.
