Sonata Software Plans Expansion

Sonata Software has decided to establish its fourth facility in Bangalore Sonata Softwarewith a total investment of Rs 20 crore.

The new facility will be set up in the Global Village Special Economic Zone at Bangalore. The zone is 12 km away from the city center.

In an announcement, the company said that the three already existing facilities with a combined area of 1.24 lakh sq ft, having 1200 employees, are already jam-packed.

The company said that its fourth facility in the Silicon capital of India will be expanded in different phases. At first, it will cover up 20,000 sq ft of area, and after its completion it would have 1,00,000 sq ft. It will accommodate an additional 800 employees.

Besides, the company also has a facility in Hyderabad, which presently seats 800 people. To expand its operations in Hyderabad, Sonata will set up another facility in a seven-acre land in an SEZ that will accommodate an additional 2,000 people.

B Ramaswamy, President & Managing Director, Sonata stated, “To enable growth both from existing as well as new customers, we have embarked on this expansion. The Sonata Software campus at the Global Village will have world-class infrastructure, which we hope will be equally liked by our customers and our employees.”

The shares of the company, on Tuesday, closed the day at Rs 33.80 after making a gain of 0.33 percent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
