Somdev takes revenge from Cilic
Indian tennis star Somdev Devvarman has taken revenge of Chennai finals loss to Marin Cilic by thumping Croatian 7-5, 6-4 in the second round of the ATP Washington Classic on Tuesday.
World 153rd Somdev saved 5-of-7 break points to upset the sixth seeded in one hour and 42 minutes to advance into the next round of the tournament.
Somdev said that he has been happy with the result of match and his game plan was to make most of the chances he would get in the match.
Somdev was defeated by Cilic in January's Chennai ATP final and he was deprived of his first ever ATP title in his hometown. Somdev admitted that he was nervous in the starting although it was not final match of the tournament and he has been satisfied with his performance.
Somdev was cheered by crowd as he had won two-times US college national championship at nearby University of Virginia.
