Somdev, Prakash storms into final

Somdev Devvarman, Prakash AmritrajMonday came with double bonanza for India as Somdev Devvarman and Prakash Amritraj are just one step away from making into the main draw of the $630,500 ATP LA Tennis Open after reaching into the final round of the qualification event in Los Angeles.

The second seeded Somdev started his second round match against Slovakian Luka Gregorc at an impressive note as he won the first set without any difficulty by 6-1.

But the second set came up with a totally different story as there was neck-to-neck competition between Somdev and his opponent but Somdev held his nerves to clinch the match by 6-1 7-6 (1).

Somdev, who slipped 25 spots to 152 in the latest ATP rankings released today, will now lock horns with the 5th seeded American Alex Bogomolov Jr. to qualify for the main draw of the tournament.

Amritraj also won first set quite convincingly against Frank Moser of Germany but the second set went to tie-breaker and Amritraj raced away with set and match by 6-0 7-6
(3) to set up clash with the sixth seeded Ryan Sweeting in the final round.
