Sneak peek into SV Motor Company Corvette-based 9 Competizione

ChevroletThe independent coachbuilders are becoming great fans of Chevrolet's C6 Corvette platform design, and many firms are reworking the classic sports car to mixed results.

The maximum attention has been gathered by the Bertone Mantide, and now even the new 9 Competizione from SV Motor Company has almost been readied for launch.

As of now, the company has reached the final assembly stage, with the first two models of the new 9 Competizione. It would only a few more weeks before the car is officially launched.

The basic C6 Corvette platform has been kept SV under the replacement sheet metal/carbon-fibre. However, there have been other changes which have been made to the C6’s specifications.

Since the sedan has been covered in almost full carbon-fibre bodywork, nearly 132 pounds have been shed from the Corvette’s kerb weight. It also has a perfect 50/50 front to rear weight distribution.

There have been improvements made in the brakes and suspension set-up, apart from the addition of Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres; however, the powertrain has been left untouched.

“Peak power can be boosted, however, if customers select SV’s revised intake and a custom-tuned exhaust option. This boosts power on the base LS3-powered Corvette from 436hp to 450hp and sees the 9 Competizione’s 0-100kph time drop to just 4.0 seconds,” informed a source close to SV.

Nearly 1,000 units of the 9 Competizione would be produced by the SV, at a cost of $99,995 USD, which does include the donor C6 Corvette. This weekend will see the first screening of the SV 9 Competizione in San Francisco, U. S. A.
