Small wonder gets expensive
Apart from the one-lakh lucky customers who will be getting the world's cheapest car at the price of Rs.
One lakh, as promised by Ratan Tata at the time of the launch of the product, the company has recently said that the other customers who have retained their bookings despite not being selected under the lucky one lakh lot will have to shed an additional 3-4% more to fulfil their dream of owning a Nano.
According to the statement issued by the company, depending on the model, customers (who had retained their bookings though were not selected among the first allottee customers) will have to pay 3-4% extra top the company for the product.
Keeping in mind that the input costs have grown at a massive speed over the past few months, a minor 3-4% hike in the price of the Nano is still negligible.
However, some experts even argue that the segment that the Nano operates in, even a 3-4% hike will make a major impact as far as the demand of the product goes in the domestic circuit.
