Shiv Sena Is Playing Dirty Politics, Says Ashok Chavan
Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan harshly criticized Shiv Sena and MNS over their recent remarks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan.
The CM added that both Rahul and SRK will be provided security as per the SPG rules.
While talking to media persons, Mr. Chavan said, "Raj and Uddhav are playing dirty politics. They have shown how low they can stoop."
He also said that the the legal action will be taken against those who take the law into their own hands.
In an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' yesterday, Thackeray said, "Mumbai may belong to all Indians but how can it belong to an Italian mummy."
"The 'Prince of Congress' is totally upset and it is in this aggravation he has snubbed Marathi people and Maharashtra," he said.
Thackeray said that Mumbai is a part of Maharashtra and Marathi people.
"If anyone is going to murder this truth, he will have to face weapons of Maharashtra," he added.
On January 29, Shiv Sena hit SRK for expressing grief over prohibition of Pakistani cricketers from IPL and challenged him to take the players in his IPL group.
Sena representative Sanjay Raut stated, "If Shah Rukh wants Pakistani players to play here, he should go to Karachi and Islamabad to play with them... If he includes Pakistani players in his team, he should be aware of the consequences."
Protesting the actor's remark, Sena protesters burned posters of the actor's forthcoming film 'MNIK' at a mall premises in Thane.
The activists gave a letter to the mall holder asking to discontinue release of the film. They have also threatened action against movie halls who dare to show the film.
