Sheryl Sandberg joins board of her late husband’s company SurveyMonkey

According to reports, Facebook Inc.'s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg has joined the board of SurveyMonkey. Her late husband, Dave Goldberg, was running the online polling company.

David Ebersman, the chief executive officer (CEO) of behavioural health company Lyra Health and the former chief financial officer of Facebook, was also added in SurveyMonkey, which is valued at $2 billion. Ebersman was managing the company through its initial public offering (IPO) in 2012.

On Monday, the new appointments were announced in an update to the website of the company. The board is also carrying out a search to appoint new CEO. Goldberg died in a treadmill accident, when he was on vacation with his wife in Mexico.

Sandberg said in a statement that she had seen Goldberg and his team carry out "their mission to help people make better decisions". She also added that she wanted to help "realize Dave's vision of building a lasting company that will impact the way we all do business for years to come."

Last month, Sandberg wrote in a Facebook post that starting the work again was helpful and helped her feel useful and connected after her husband's death. She expressed her pain by writing about it on her Facebook page.

As per reports, she has been the second largest shareholder in SurveyMonkey following Tiger Global Management. Lee Fixel, partner of Tiger Global Management, is also a SurveyMonkey board member. Google Inc. and Spectrum Equity are among other supporters.
