The shark that jumped out of the sea to kill a kangaroo!

Melbourne, Dec 11: It looks like shark stories have taken a turn now, with a shark coming out of the sea and attacking a kangaroo in Australia.

The eyewitness, Daniel Hurst said that he saw a two- or three-metre shark jump out of the water at Torquay and attack the unfortunate kangaroo as it paddled out to sea.

"The shark came right out of the water, " News.com.au quoted Hurst, as telling Geelong Advertiser.

"It flipped onto its side. I didn't see the kangaroo after that,” he added.

While explaining the bizarre incident, Hurst said that he first spotted the kangaroo when it hopped out of scrub and down to the beach where he was walking his dog.

He has said the kangaroo entered the water and started swimming out to sea, making slow progress.

"I still can't believe it. It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen, and I've travelled all over the world,” Hurst said.

After learning the incident, ranger Mick Smith from Lara's Serendip Sanctuary confirmed that kangaroos could swim and will do so if they feel threatened and see the water as an escape route.

"It sounds like very unusual behaviour, " Smith said. (ANI)
