Sharif urges Musahrraf to quit
Islamabad, Feb 22 : Pakistan Muslim League (N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that keeping in view the mandate given by the Pakistanis, President Pervez Musharraf should resign from his post forthwith.
“Pakistanis are independent people and will never accept slavery under any super power,” said Sharif, adding, “Once in power, we will make our own decisions without taking dictation from anyone.”
Sharif went on to say that his party adheres to the promises it made in connection with the restoration of the judiciary and will not step back from its stance.
“We have reached the agreement with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the condition of restoration of judiciary,” The News quoted him, as saying.
Re-instatement of the deposed judges is the only way towards ensuring the dignity of the judiciary, which is the corner stone for achieving prosperity for the country, Sharif said. (ANI)
