Sharif says he turned down Musharraf’s wish to meet him

Lahore, Nov 17: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has claimed that he rejected President General Pervez Muhsarraf’s wish to meet him in Jeddah.

Sharif was deported to Jeddah by the Musharraf regime on September 10 from the Islamabad airport.

Sharif said government officials had contacted him on more than one occasion and asked him to meet Musharraf in Jeddah, adding that he had categorically refused to meet the General because he didn’t want to settle his issues at the cost of the people’s interest, the Daily Times reported.

Sharif strongly condemned the closure of Geo News and hoped that he and the channel would soon get a dignified return. (ANI)
