Seven Delhi players miss Ranji camp
The Delhi District and Cricket association (DDCA) is facing heat as seven more players of Delhi cricket team missed the opening day of training camp for the upcoming domestic tournament, Ranji Trophy.
After Indian aggressive opener Virender Sehwag, seven more players including Ishant Sharma and Gautam Gambhir skipped the training camp. Two days ago, Sehwag had alleged the selection committee for nepotism and corruption.
However, DDCA officials denied the reports saying that the players skipped camp as they wanted to take rest and there is no insurgency for DDCA. They claimed that Sehwag was at Kochi for shooting of an ad film while other players were playing in England County.
DDCA Vice-President and Selection Committee Chairman Chetan Chauhan said that all the players of Delhi team were present at the camp and some players missed the camp due to their engagements.
He added that these players had already informed them about their engagements and Gambhir and Ashish Nehra would join the camp from tomorrow.
