Sehwag optimistic to play in Champions Trophy
Indian aggressive opener Virender Sehwag is hoping to make comeback in the International cricket through the ICC Champions Trophy. Sehwag is currently undergoing rehabilitation process to recover from the shoulder injury.
Sehwag sustained a shoulder injury during the semifinal of Indian Premier League (IPL-3) in South Africa while playing for Delhi Daredevils earlier this year. Due to injury he missed the ICC T20 World Cup in England and West Indies tour of Indian team last month.
Sehwag had undergone a surgery on his injured shoulder on June 11 and he was expected to be out of the action for 12 to 16 weeks. Sehwag said that he is recovering from his injury and he would make comeback in the ICC Champions Trophy although he could not bat or throw ball yet.
Sehwag is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and he will visit academy once again on August 15 to assess extent of recovery of injury.
