Schmidt hints first true Google tablet next yearGoogle CEO Eric Schmidt has said that the first true Google tablet will be released in the coming year.

Analysts say that Google will join the competitive tablet market possibility with a tablet under the Nexus brand name. The tablet market is dominated by Apple iPad and includes various Android based tablets including that fro Amazon, Samsung, HTC and others.

"In the next six months we plan to market a tablet of the highest quality," said Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

Google has a strong presence in the tablet market with its Android platform. The company is expected to release the latest version of the platform, the Android 4.0 codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich soon.

Ice Cream Sandwich will be released this month on the Galaxy Nexus smartphone and will include a redesigned user interface offering same experience on tablets and smartphones t its users.

The platform has received favorable reviews across various blogs and from technology writers. It is heavily inspired from its previous version, the Honeycomb. The new version will inherit Honeycomb's Tron-inspired "holographic" visual style, which will now come with new designing making it available devices with different screen sizes.

The Android 4 design is simple and functional with a clear color palette that is simple to use. The apps are presented in a somewhat hidden way like the way Google has redesigned its website.

The platform also brings new typeface called Roboto, which was specifically developed for the platform. It allows users to read comfortably and it also works well as a content font in the stock Web browser.
