Saudi govt issues warning against swine flu during Haj
It seems that the government of Saudi Arabia does not want to leave any stone unturned to recommend all the pilgrims of Haj to take extra safety measures because of the swine flu (H1N1) fright.
Over 160,000 Indians are expected to visit Saudi Arabia for the annual Haj pilgrimage in October. This year the Haj pilgrimage will take place from October 23 to November 21.
Saudi government has advised "vulnerable" group of people not to travel. These vulnerable groups include children and the people who are above the age of 65 years.
Recently, the Haj committee of India has also decided that people showing swine flu symptoms will not be allowed to go on Haj.
The committee has already issued a note in this regard for all those selected for 40-day pilgrimage to Mecca this year.
Moreover, the Haj Committee has asked all pilgrims to produce inoculation certificate showing that none of them is suffering from seasonal and swine flu.
