Fabrice Santoro of France has stormed into the second round of the Campbell's Hall of Fame Championships after defeating Italy's Flavio Cipolla in a rain interrupted match at Newport.

Santoro, the two time champion, has outplayed Cipolla in straight sets by 6-3 7-5 in first round match of the tournament.

This match was originally planned to be played on Tuesday but due to rain it was postponed to next day and another rain intervention caused match to be closed early on Wednesday which has been finished yesterday.

Santoro will now lock horns with Taylor Dent in the second round of the tournament.

In another match, Rajeev Ram of America has defeated Colombia's Alejandro Falla in straight sets by 6-4 7-5 while Ukraine's Sergiy Stakhovsky outplayed Canada's Frank Dancevic by 7-6 (11-9) 2-6 7-5.
