Sandra Bullock wasn't top choice for 'Gravity' role

sandra-bullockWashington, Oct 05 : Sandra Bullock was not the first choice for sci-fi flick ' Gravity' and the lead female role was reportedly offered to a bevy of much younger stars.

In mid-2010, Marion Cotillard , 38, was screen tested for the role originally written for Angelina Jolie, while a couple of months later Scarlett Johansson, 28, and Blake Lively, 26, were being linked to the movie, Fox News reported.

When director Alfonso Cuaron got the green light from Warner Bros., he offered the part to Natalie Portman, 32, but at the end Oscar winner Bullock landed the role.

Meanwhile, Bullock told the publication that she was a weird choice for a movie, as she doesn't like to fly.

She said that the toughest aspect of filming was gravity, as they had to have the actors floating around the way they would react in space and there is no resistance in space and they needed to invent a new set of tools to achieve that. (ANI)
