India's badminton star Saina Nehwal brings some good news for herself and for the country too. The badminton player has secured a ranking spot at number five in the world. This is so far the best ranking that Nehwal has ever got in her career.

She secured this ranking after her scintillating performance in the recently concluded All England Badminton Championships. In the list of top 10 badminton players in the world, six are from China.

Prior to All England Badminton Championship, Nehwal was at number 7. But after the tournament, the ace badminton player climbed up two spots in the rankings. Her total score was at 58516 points. These rankings are widely dominated by the Chinese players.

In fact, among the top five badminton players in the world, it is only Nehwal who is not from China. The rest top four players were all chinese: Yihan Wang, Wang Lin, Xin Wang and Jiang Yanjiao; in the order of their ranks.

The twenty year old Saina, has had a fantastic run in the last year too. She won the Indonesian Open Super Series Tournament and was also among the semi-finalists of the World Super Series Masters Final.
