Rogers' transmits a Strong Signal in Q4

Rogers-CommunicationRoger Communications reported fourth quarter result in line with the Wall Street expectations. The company reported an increase of 4% in the revenue during the fourth quarter over the year earlier boosted by the sale of smart phones.

Company added 109,000 subscribers during the quarter. Revenue recorded by the company was lower due to macro economic conditions and despite the launch of several new products growth rate in the cable division, internet and digital cable service segment was lower than expected. Increase in the competition intensity also affects the revenue and market share of the certain segment of the company.

According to Nadir Mohamed, President and CEO of Rogers, "Against a tough economic backdrop, we delivered solid financial and operating results during the fourth quarter. Looking ahead, we are extremely well positioned with a terrific asset mix and strong customer demand for our products and services."

For the year 2010 company plans to keep its guidance projections high on revenue and profit.
