RNC’s robocall uses Hillary Clinton’s words against Obama
To push the idea that Barack Obama is unqualified to be president, Republican robocalls targeting the swing states in the final hours of the election, feature Hillary Clinton’s primary season criticism of Obama.
The robocalls have the voice of Clinton, the New York senator and one-time opponent to Obama, saying: “In the White House there is no time for speeches and on-the-job training. Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002. I think that is a significant difference.”
Hillary Clinton, who has been campaigning for Obama is dismayed at the thought that automatic calls in her voice are being used by the Republican National Committee, in the battleground states.
In a statement, Clinton spokeswoman Kathleen Strand reacted to the RNC robocall, saying: “Senator Hillary Clinton does not approve this message.” She added that Clinton has also said that McCain-Palin ticket offers only more of the same failed policies while the Obama-Biden ticket offers the vision, leadership and positive solutions.
With the election just round the corner, McCain, fighting for comebacks in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Florida told supporters on Sunday: “There’s just two days left, we’re a couple of points behind in Pennsylvania. The pundits have written us off, just like they’ve done before. My friends, the Mac is back.”
Meanwhile, Obama spent the day in battleground Ohio imploring supporters to vote, and said: “Don’t think for a minute that power will concede without a fight. This is our time. We’ve got a righteous wind at our backs.”
