After winning the toss, India elected to field first and dismissed its neighbour for only 57 runs.
India then attained the target within ten overs without losing any wickets.
Following the triumphant show of their bowlers, Anagha Deshpande (26) and Anjum Chopra (17) comfortably led India towards victory.
Among the Indian bowlers, Rumeli Dhar was the leading wicket taker, with three wickets giving away only seven runs.
United Nations, Mar. 7 : The Pakistan Government has given 1.5 million dollars as seed money to the United Nations Secretariat to partially cover the cost of a three-member fact-finding commission to probe the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
"The money has been received, I can confirm that," The Daily Times quoted UN Secretary-General''s spokeswoman Michele Montas, as saying.
London, Mar. 7: Former Pakistan cricket captain, Imran Khan has blamed his devotion to politics for the breakdown of his marriage with his British wife, Jemima.
Cricketer turned politician Khan said that his marital life with Jemima suffered because of his devotion to politics.
Khan, in an interview with the Times online said: “I always assumed that my wife fell in love with me because of my passions and ambitions. I was never going to be a 9 to 5 job kind of guy. I was never interested in money. I was always an idealist, a dreamer who believed in things that others thought were impossible.”
Peshawar, Mar. 7: The Pakistan Government has classified the Taliban into three categories black, gray and white.
The police investigation manual sees black and gray categories of Taliban prisoners as a serious threat to national security, while the ‘white category’ Talibanis are not considered very harmful.
On Friday, NWEF Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti announced that the only ‘white category Taliban prisoners’ would be released as part of the peace deal in Swat.
“I have directed the home secretary to look into the cases of those prisoners who are in the white category. We will not free prisoners in black and gray categories,” the Daily Times quoted Hoti, as saying.
Washington, Mar 7 : The main reason behind the growing strength of insurgency in Afghanistan is due to al Qaeda and Taliban militants finding safe havens in Pakistan and the surging output of jihadis from radical Islamic schools, according to Canadian Defence Minister Peter Mackay.
"The Taliban are growing in strength because they have the ability to seek safe haven in Pakistan," Mackay said about the source of the growing Afghan insurgency lies across the border in Pakistan.
New York, Mar. 7 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League (N) chief, Nawaz Sharif has ruled out a military intervention amidst the current political instability and blame game in the country.
In an interview with Time magazine, Sharif said that it was unlikely that the Pak army would try to step-in at this stage.
Sharif said that Zardari regime would be in danger if it continues to derail the democratic institutions in the country.
