Risks posed by Satyam collapse manageable: Qantas

Qantas Airways LogoMelbourne, Jan. 8 : Qantas, which has an information technology contract with India''s Satyam Computer Services, today said that any risks to its business in the wake of the latter''s revelation of fraud, were manageable.

Qantas said in a statement that it had five years remaining on a seven-year contract under which Satyam provides IT application maintenance and support for the company.

"At this stage Qantas assesses any risks to business as manageable," The Australian quoted the statement, as saying.

Melbourne, Jan 8 : US bloggers have declared war against ex-Australian Prime Minister John Howard for kicking US president-elect Barack Obama out of a bed at Washington''s Blair House in the lead-up to the inauguration.

Last month, the Obama family asked the Bush administration if they could move into Blair House - the security home near the White House - a fortnight early to get their daughters settled at their new schools, reports the Daily Telegraph.

However, they were refused saying that it was not possible because foreign dignitaries had been booked in.
