Federer says Murray is no threat to his Grand Slam aspirations

Melbourne, Jan. 13 : Thirteen-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer suggested on Tuesday that challenger Andy Murray was no threat to his apiration for another Grand Slam.

Murray, the 21-year-old Scot who cruised from 20th in the world rankings last April to No. 4 by the end of the year, has beaten Federer in their two meetings this month.

He also has a 5-2 record against Federer in official ATP matches, as well as a resounding victory over the Swiss in an exhibition in Abu Dhabi two weeks ago.

As a result of those defeats and his solid end to last season, Murray has been installed as the favourite for the Australian Open which begins in Melbourne next week.

Oz greats want ‘batting sensation’ Warner in ODI squad

Melbourne, Jan 13 : Former Australian Test greats have demanded the immediate inclusion of new batting sensation David Warner into Australia's one-day squad.

The name of the youngster who belted 89 off only 43 balls at the MCG on Sunday night is nowhere to be seen in Australian squad for the ODI series against South Africa.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch is believed to be happy to review the squad after the first two of five ODI games, paving the way for the possible inclusion of the
22-year-old in the squad, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Melbourne, Jan 13 : Open plan offices are making people sick, leading to high levels of stress and lower productivity, according to an Australian study.

A global review into the effect of modern office design led to the conclusion that working in an open-plan had a negative impact with high levels of stress, conflict, high blood pressure, and a high staff turnover.

Wearing skimpy Speedos on Grenada streets can land you in jail!

Melbourne, Jan 13: The Police Commissioner of Grenada is so offended by tourists wearing skimpy Speedos on the streets that he is threatening to put them in jail.

He is enforcing an indecent exposure law banning swimsuits away from the beach.

Police commissioner James Clarkson will impose a warning to dress appropriately and then a fine of 270 dollars if the law is flouted.

Clarkson said cruise ships usually inform passengers of the correct way to dress when in town, but "from time to time, there is the one or two who take their chances."

He has also taken a swipe at ''baggy pants that expose underwear which fuels low morality in the country.

Man punches shark as it bites his leg at Lake Illawarra

Melbourne, Jan 12 : A 23-year-old Aussie man, who was snorkeling, saved his own life from a shark by punching it.

The snorkeller was swimming under the Windang Bridge when he felt a tug on his leg, and saw a flurry of white water.

He punched out at a brown shape that was believed to have been a bull shark.

After he freed himself, he made his way to mud flats where he flagged down a passing boat.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics, and had suffered about 40 puncture wounds to his calf and an abrasion on his hand, caused by punching the shark.

He was later taken to Shellharbour Hospital.
