Melbourne, February 11 : Kylie and Dannii Minogue may head a fundraiser, along with fellow Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia, for the victims of the devastating Victoria bushfire that cost more than 170 lives.
According to author Kathy Lette, a close pal of Kylie, plans were being drawn to host a benefit in London in memory of those consumed by the tragedy.
Melbourne, Feb. 10 : Former Australian cricketer Simon O'Donnell has said that skipper Ricky Ponting and coach Tim Nielsen need to grow up and start delivering results.
In a scathing assessment, the former Test all-rounder blasted the "ridiculous" decision to rest Ponting and hit out at the leadership and selection structure.
Former Test selector John Benaud, who claimed it was a major tactical error to announce that Ponting would be rested, supported him.
Melbourne, Feb. 10 : The bushfire death toll in southern Australia has risen to 173, even as several towns have been completely ruined.
According to news. com. au, the police are hunting down the arsonist believed to be responsible for lighting one of the worst of Victoria fires. They believe they know the identity of the man who allegedly contributed to the Churchill-Jeeralang blaze in Gippsland. Twenty-one people have died in that region.
The death toll from the bushfires was certain to rise further.
Melbourne, Feb. 9 : Cricket Australia has said that no disciplinary action will be taken against either Simon Katich or Michael Clarke for their dressing room altercation.
It described the incident as a "private issue" dealt with internally.
The governing body opted not to take any action after Katich allegedly grabbed Clarke by the throat in a row over the singing of the team song after their Sydney Test win over South Africa in early January.
Melbourne, Feb 9 : Residents in a rural area of Darwin have given a rather saucy name to one of their streets-Dildo Boulevard-after a 30 sex toys were found in front of a house on February 6.
It was when Robert Johns and Laurelle Bates left for work in the morning that they discovered the mysterious toys.
"It''s a real mystery. We have no idea where they came from. I know they aren''t new. They look used," News. com. au quoted Bates as telling The Northern Territory News.
Johns revealed that the number of sex toys had decreased in 24 hours after he counted them on the day they were found.
