Federer enters Australian Open quarter finalsMelbourne, Jan 20 : Sixth seed Roger Federer on Monday equaled Jimmy Connors record by reaching his 41st Grand Slam quarter-final with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

It was also the 11th straight year that Federer has reached the quarter-final stage at the Melbourne Park.

Federer and Tsonga met twice in the quarter-finals of Grand Slams last year, with the former winning their match at last year's Australian Open and Tsonga prevailing at the French Open in May.

Johnson beats skipper Clarke to win coveted Allan Border medal

The fast-bowler beat out competition from captain Michael Clarke , who was the favourite to win the award for a record fifth time.

Meg Lanning, just 21-years-old, won the Belinda Clark medal for the best female cricketer of the year.

James Faulkner, who has played just the one Test match during the voting period, was the surprise finisher in third, News. com. au reports.

If Clarke wins the medal this time again, he is going to go past Ricky Ponting, who has four, the report added.

The Serbian is yet to drop a set at Melbourne Park and took the victory in 93 minutes, reports Xinhua.

Djokovic won the opening set with a solitary break.

From the fourth deuce of the opening game in the second set, Djokovic won 14 of the next 15 points to surge to 4-0 and ended the contest.

Djokovic fired off seven aces and converted six break points in the match.

Wozniacki exits from Oz Open following third round defeat

Caroline-WozniackiMelbourne, Jan 18 : Danish tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki has failed to fulfill her dream of attaining the first Grand Slam of her career after her third-round exit from the Australian Open on Thursday.

The former world number one, who is engaged to golf ace Rory McIlroy, was defeated 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 by Spaniard Garbine Muguruza Blanco at the Rod Laver Arena on Saturday.

The defeat came after Wozniacki expressed confidence on winning the Australian Open after a successful second round win over unseeded American Christina McHale. (ANI)

Oscar Vinals designed AWWA Sky Whale would be bigger than the Airbus A380 jumbo jet, and is going to be technologically more advanced, News. com. au reported.

According to Vinals, his plane's belly is going to be so round that it would be able to fit three levels and 755 passengers.

He said that the decks are also going to be divided according to class - first class at the top, business in the middle and economy at the bottom.
