Mumbai, Mar 20 : Maharashtra Police on Friday said it would be better if the Indian Premier League (IPL) is held in the state after elections.
Maharashtra's Director General (Elections) Suprabhat Chakravarty suggested that the tournament should be put on hold till the election is over.
"There is no point in putting extra strain on policemen. They are already busy due to elections. It is a very strenuous duty to provide security during both the IPL matches and the elections," Chakravarty said.
Mumbai, Mar 19 : Union Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Thursday said the Pakistan authorities should take action under the international law and the bilateral assurances given by them.
"It is the duty of Pakistan to take action under international law and the bilateral assurances and treaties that have been given," Sharma said at a press conference here.
Mumbai, Mar 17 : IT firm Satyam Computers, on Tuesday said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that it has allotted 10,511 equity shares under its stock option plans.
The government appointed Satyam board gave its consent to the allotment of shares on March 13, the filing said.
The filing revealed that in accordance with the allotment, the paid-up share capital of the company stood at Rs 1,34,77,89,584.
No new movies will be released across India after April 3, as the film makers could not settle their disputes with multiplex owners over sharing of box-office revenues.
The rift has come after multiplex owners did not agree to their conditions of 50:50 equality in profits sharing for each movie to distributor and exhibitors, be it a small budget or a big budget film - independent of the star cast.
Pune, Mar 16: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi derided each other during campaigning in Maharashtra on Monday.
While Pawar condemned Modi by calling him a "frontline leader" of the communal forces in the country, Modi mocked Pawar by saying that the Congress has cheated him on the prime ministership issue.
