The queue was more than 700 metres long to get one of the 13,000 "popular" tickets for the Monumental stadium, the cheapest option available at around 10 dollars each, to watch the historic game on site.

Luciano Coutinho, the president of Brazil's national development bank BNDES said Friday that the country would provide a loan to the Argentinian government.

Aerolineas Argentinas is said to plan buying 26 of Brazil's Embraer 190 passenger planes to replace older Boeing and McDonnell Douglas jets.

The Argentine Rural Confederation said Friday that it would stop selling grains and livestock, set up roadblocks and thwart exports for a week.

They are protesting the government's refusal to lower taxes on the country's main crop, soya beans, as well as its handling of the crippling drought that has wiped out many farmers.
