Rallis Net Profit Surges 58% In Q1Rallis India Ltd, Tata Enterprise and a top player in the Indian crop protection industry, has declared its financial results for the three month period ended June 30, 2010.

The net sales of the company from operations have recorded an increase of 20% at Rs 1.96 billion as against Rs 1.63 billion during the corresponding period in 2009-10.

The company's net profit grew by 58% to Rs 148 million as against Rs 94 million in June 2009.

While commenting on the company's performance during the first quarter, V Shankar, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO), Rallis India stated, "I am happy to report improved Company performance during the first quarter. The company has crossed Rs 2 billion gross sales milestone in a quarter reflecting growth of 20%. Net profit for the quarter at Rs 148 million recorded 58% growth. We continue to progress well on our Rallis poised growth agenda."

The company's shares surged Rs 75.55 to end the week at Rs 1,196.30. The total volume of shares traded was 58,813 at the Bombay Stock Exchange. (With Inputs from Agencies)
