Rajasthan Royals defeats Kings XI Punjab by 31 runs
Rajasthan Royals led by skipper Shane Warne has defeated Kings XI Punjab by 31 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL-3) at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday.
Punjab skipper Kumar Sangakarra won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan scored 183 runs for loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. F Fazal and A Voges contributed 45 runs each for Rajasthan.
S Sreesanth, S Srivastava and P Chawla took one wicket each for Punjab.
Chasing the target of 184 runs, Punjab batting order collapsed as they returned to pavilion for just 152 runs on the board in 19.1 overs. M Bisla was top scorer for Punjab who scored 35 runs.
S Tait was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan who took three wickets for 22 runs in his 3.1 overs while S Trivedi and Y Pathan picked up one wicket each. Voges was declared man of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
