A Raja happy with 3G auction result
Telecom Minister A Raja has expressed his contentment over the successful completion of auction for 3G spectrum yesterday. He has said that it was truly satisfactory and the results are beyond expectation.
The 3G mobile license spectrum auction has been completed yesterday and is going to be a big bonanza for the UPA government. From this auction the government will receive around Rs. 67,710 crore. The Telecom minister has accepted that this has been a huge out put.
Raja has said that he is happy as the government will receive amount that it haven't expected to get. Yesterday was the 34th day and the final day of the auction. Only the pan-India license will provide Rs 16,750.58 crore to the government.
The government has estimated to get around Rs 35,000 crore from sale of spectrum in all across the country in the budget 2010-11. This estimated figure was both for 3G and Broadband Wireless Access (BWA). 3G auction has been completed and produced an excellent result. Now the BWA auction is to be started and anticipated to maintain the same show further.
