Princes William and Harry raise £850,000 to help wounded Brit troops
London, May 7 : Prince William and younger brother Prince Harry have raised almost 1 million pounds for troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The British royals pledged to do all they could for soldiers wounded by the on going war in the Middle East, and have raked in 850,000 pounds in just 12 weeks from the ultra rich.
The duo recently visited wounded soldiers, and a royal source revealed that they had been deeply affected by it.
“The welfare of wounded troops is close to William and Harry’s hearts because they’ve seen with their own eyes the guys suffering,” The Sun quoted the source, as saying.
It’s expected that a large amount will also be raised at their City Salute tribute to the armed forces in London.
The money raised will then be split between the forces’ charities Help For Heroes and SSAFA.
It will go towards improving facilities at Headley Court rehab centre for servicemen and women in Surrey. (ANI)
